Project Bucephalus Robotics is a Wollongong-based group that has many years of experience running robotics activities for children in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, and Sydney areas - and they are excited to present another round of Robo Camps for the July 2019 school holidays!
Workshops will run at both the Shoalhaven Campus (15-16th July) and Wollongong Campus (18-19th July), with students spending 2 days designing, programming, and building – and having a lot of fun in the process! All workshops are designed for kids 7 years +. However, they will accept younger students if they are accompanied by an adult.
Parents/carers are also welcome to buddy up with their child as a team OR have your child partner up with a friend for their very own team! Please note that all workshops will have Project Bucephalus student volunteers who will be on hand to help kids on the day.
Places are limited and bookings are essential - CLICK HERE TO BOOK! For
any enrollment or workshop inquiries, get in touch with Andrew Clark (Lead Mentor) on 0403 390 547 or email email@example.com
July 2019 Holiday Camps are (refer workshops descriptions below):
Introduction to Mindstorms:
This our standard beginner course. Students are introduced to LEGO® MINDSTORMS®, learning the basics of robotics and programming as they build robots capable of reacting to their environment and making simple decisions. The second day of the workshop finishes with the ever-popular “Robot Sumo” challenge and a tournament where all families are welcome. No previous experience is required. While the activity is designed to be suitable for ages 7 and up, we will accept younger students if they are accompanied by an adult.
In Robo Kart, students will design, build, and program their own unique remote-control racers to compete in a robotic adaption of a popular racing computer game. Races will take place on a multi-level racetrack featuring a collections of interactive power-ups and obstacles. This is designed for students already familiar with LEGO® MINDSTORMS® – or novices able to cope with a steep learning curve! While the activity is designed to be suitable for ages 7 and up, we will accept younger students if they are accompanied by an adult.
