MORE amazing news for Gong mums / mums to be, as we gain another female, experienced, woman-focused OBGYN!

Jenny Henderson Mon 2 December 19

Great news for Illawarra ladies, parents and parents to be! The beauty of our region is attracting some serious talent in the medical world...

Here at Parents Guide Illawarra, we are passionate advocates of women being able to feel empowered and comfortable during pregnancy and birth, so we are delighted to welcome our newest (and highly experienced) female Wollongong based Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Dr Emma Tetstall!

Dr Tetstall, a mum herself of two young boys, has moved across from the highly respected Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, Sydney, where she completed the majority of her specialist training over nine years. This has equipped Dr Tetstall with considerable experience in the management of both low and high risk Obstetrics - so regardless if you have a text book pregnancy or birth, or things are complicated from the get-go, women across the Illawarra can now experience exceptional care in her hands.

What makes Dr Emma Tetstall stand out, is not only her warm, incredibly easy to-talk-to manner, but also how passionate she is about empowering women to have the birth and experience they want. Dr Tetstall invests a lot of her time talking to her patients, listening and explaining what options they have available according to their unique pregnancy and birthing plans.

She also has admitting rights at both Wollongong Private and Public Hospitals, which means if you develop complications in your pregnancy requiring delivery at the public hospital, she will be able to treat you there. She is also able to book gynaecological surgery at the public hospital. To book in with her at her private rooms (just opposite Wollongong Private Hospital – CLICK HERE to visit her website or call her friendly team on (02) 4271 5440).

Dr Emma Tetstall was attracted to Obstetrics as she loves the continuity of care she is able to invest in each patient, from the earlier days of pregnancy through to birth and also for any women's health issues post-natal. Birthing babies never loses its magic, according to Dr Tetstall!

Emma also brings to the Illawarra, additional qualifications as she spent a further two years to gain her Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound - which in layman's terms for you and me - means if there is anything amiss in any scan or screening tests, Dr Emma Tetstall will be onto it. She is one of only two Wollongong based OBYN's with this qualification.

Dr Emma caps her Obstetric patients to a limit each month, so she can invest in each patient to ensure they experience a very personalised, dedicated and exceptional level of care - to get a referral to Dr Emma Tetstall, please visit your GP or contact her lovely team direct on (02) 4271 5440.

A final word from the team here at Parents Guide Illawarra (who between us have experienced 11 very different births!) - welcome Dr Emma Tetstall! We are delighted you have come to the gorgeous Illawarra - and here is to empowering women Illawarra wide! Thank you also for sponsoring this article so more women / parents to be can discover you when they need you, whether it be for care during pregnancy or birth or any women’s health issue :) CLICK HERE to read more about Dr Emma Tetstall.
