The SPECTACULAR Illawarra event that EVERY family member loves!

Jenny Henderson Wed 12 February 20

After consultation with NSW Health, the organisers of Wings Over Illawarra 2020, Mark and Kerry Bright, have made the heart-breaking decision to cancel the 2020 event which was due to take place in November 2020.

We are now forging ahead with Wings Over Illawarra 2021 and have set the dates for the 13th and 14th November 2021 with a STEM day planned for the 12th November 2021. Having the event in May 2021 was considered, but we did not want to find ourselves in the same situation again with the pandemic not completely under control.
We apologise for any inconvenience and ask our ticket holders for their patience during these unprecedented times. If you have any enquiries regarding your tickets please direct them through our website.

All tickets that have already been purchased for the 2020 event will be re-issued in the coming weeks with the new dates for the 2021 event. Unfortunately due to our current financial position refunds will not be available at this time. CLICK HERE to read more

You cannot call yourself a true Illawarra local unless you attend this one event that attracts visitors from beyond our shores and Australia wide. It is a true phenomenon and one that HAS to be seen to be believed!
Welcome to the best entertainment that our region offers and THE event that Parents Guide Illawarra is so proud to support - Wings Over Illawarra returns Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November 2020.
It also just happens to offer unlimited carnival rides included with every ticket - and every ticket purchase is ALL - INCLUSIVE (oh, unlike ummm perhaps 'other Easter shows' that leave you requiring a second mortgage!!)
As the jaw-dropping solo and formation aerobatics displays unfurl above, the spectacular display of classic warbirds and amazing vintage aircraft of yesteryear will keep your feet on the ground. As will our Australian Defence Force as they present the best our country has to offer with loud, fast fighter jets and huge heavy transport aircraft in this event.
Taking place at the Shellharbour Airport (formerly called the Illawarra Regional Airport), the picturesque Illawarra escarpment, this location provides the ideal backdrop for the Wings Over Illawarra Air Show. Gates open 9am - 5pm with the Air Show from 11am - 4pm both days.

Wings Over Illawarra continues to be on the region's most popular carnival year after year! There is no better way to spend an unforgettable day with family and friends - bring a picnic lunch and blanket and spend a day watching the action in the sky and across the grounds of the carnival...

There is something for everyone - from families, to aviation fans, to young and old. And in 2020, Wings Over Illawarra is happy to announce that your entry ticket is an all-inclusive ticket (not including your food and drinks of course!)

Entry now includes access to a massive carnival with UNLIMITED RIDES for young and old, and all ground exhibits and displays all included in the entry ticket price!

Some of the highlights of Wings Over Illawarra 2020 will be:

  • NSW Drone Expo: For the very first time Wings Over Illawarra will incorporate the inaugural NSW Drone Expo. The expo will feature drone racing from the Australian Defence Force and exhibitors from all sectors of the drone industry. Entry to the NSW Drone Expo is included in your entry ticket so make sure you go and experience this exciting technology!
  • Oz Flight Sim Expo: The only flight simulation event in Australia, this offers flight simulation enthusiasts of all ages the perfect opportunity to get up close with some of the most impressive displays and product demonstrations.
  • General Aviation Precinct: In 2020, Wings Over Illawarra will incorporate a General Aviation precinct featuring static aircraft displays and flying schools along with industry exhibitor sites for aviation suppliers, manufacturers and service providers. It will offer the general public an opportunity to interact with the general aviation industry, view products and ask questions. Aircraft displays will range from microlights and gyrocopters to the latest in composite sport and recreational aircraft plus of course the classics and a few of the more unusual aircraft types.
  • Australian Defence Force squadron aircraft on display on both festival days.
  • S.T.E.M day for schools - more details to come!
  • Of course, top of our list was seeing that the F/A-18 hornets are back! Classics or Supers? Yet to be confirmed! Watch this space!

Event organisers are expecting over 35,000 spectators for the 2020 event, so avoid disappointment and book your tickets online and SAVE! - CLICK HERE. Kids under 5 years of age are FREE.
