Pregnancy and early parenthood is rewarding, but it can also bring significant changes and challenges for mums, dads and children.

Support is available for you and your family throughout these periods, assisting you with you and/or your child’s mental and physical health and wellbeing. Find out more about how each program can help you by viewing our table of services for the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

Kids Count program

The Kids Count program supports children under school age and their parents/carers. Children and their families can access 6-12 sessions with an experienced child and family therapist.

We can assist your family to develop helpful and successful strategies for supporting your child, communicating with your child, and building your child’s resilience.

This program is offered at no cost upon referral by a GP, paediatrician or Child and Family Service.

For further information download the Kids Count program brochure or call 4220 7688.

Antenatal Shared Care program

Antenatal Shared Care Programs in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven can provide you with options for care throughout your pregnancy.

You can share your pregnancy-related check-ups between your GP and the hospital doctors and midwives, and have access to flexible appointments and ongoing care after your baby is born.

For further information download the Antenatal Shared Care program brochure or call the Antenatal Shared Care Coordinator on 4253 4271.

Perinatal Mental Health program

Pregnancy is a significant time of change that some parents may find difficult. These changes can at times be overwhelming when you are getting to know and adjust to your new baby.

The Perinatal Mental Health Program supports you as a new mum or dad, as well as your family, if you are experiencing depression or anxiety from conception to 12 months after childbirth.

You can access the individual or group-based support free of charge with a referral from your GP, paediatrician or midwife.

For further information download the Perinatal Mental Health program brochure or call 4220 7688.
